Endy Chavez was in the Mets' minor league system from 1996 until he was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 2000 Rule V Draft. The centerfielder played for the Royals in 2001 the Expos from 2002-04 and split 2005 between Washington and Philadelphia before coming to the Mets for the 2006 season.
