John Smoltz has spent his entire career as a pitcher for the Atlanta Braves. Since joining the team in 1988 he has won a World Series Championship and five pennants, been named to the All-Star Team seven times and won a Cy Young Award. After spending most of his time on the mound as a starter, arm fatigue and major surgery resulted in Smotlz assuming the closer role for the Braves from 2002-04, a task he mastered brilliantly, as he notched 55 saves in 2002, 45 saves in 2003 and 44 saves in 2004. By 2005, however, Smoltz was back in the starting rotation and he has been there since, piling on the wins as he closes in on 200. John Smoltz has hand signed this official MLB baseball, which comes complete with a Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity.
