On Sept. 27 1998 during the final home game at Busch Stadium in St. Louis Mark McGwire ended the home run record chase that captured the nation. Playing against the Montreal Expos McGwire set a new all-time record when he hit his 70th home run in the 7th inning. He finished his 16-year career with 12 All-Star Game selections and an induction to the All-Century team.
